Background
Dorian Smith joined the Best Buddies team in 2012. He has focused his career on advocating and providing supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A graduate of Voorhees College, the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Phoenix, Dorian has more than 15 years of experience in administration, compliance, program development and fundraising. He resides in Laureldale, PA with his wife Dana and their two children, Trinity and Eden.
Why did you choose Best Buddies for employment?
Best Buddies was a diamond in the rough. I first heard about Best Buddies in 2011 while considering a career shift. After learning more, I had to join this great organization that fights for the inclusion of our most vulnerable population.
What does friendship mean to you?
Friendship is the best gift you can ever give. Friends care about friends. Theodore Roosevelt once said, People dont care how much you know until they know how much you care.
What are your goals for your state this year?
My goal for BBPA is to grow our network of friends throughout the state. Through the tireless efforts of our staff and advisory boards, we will develop and maintain lasting friendships.
